Did you know that at first Lewis Carrol , the author of the novel also sketched the illustrations himself, and then entrusted them to the illustrator John Tenniel? The room is inspired by the first black and white edition of the novel "Alice in Wonderland" written in 1865. The main colors are therefore white and black, to which a note of red is added inspired by his love for playing cards and chess games. The Cheshire Cat crouched on the tree talking with Alice enriches the room, together with the mirrored door that doubles the image and invites you to enter into a fantasy where nothing is as it seems, just like the sequel "Through the looking glass and what Alice found there”.
