A garden, inside and out
When Mary, the protagonist of the novel "The Secret Garden", written in 1910 by the Anglo-American Frances Hodgson Burnett, glimpses the hidden entrance door among the ivy leaves, she decides to take Colin with her to share the discovery. Mary's gesture is a symbolic and tangible opening to the external world of nature, a gesture of deep friendship towards Colin. This sort of continuum between the outside and the inside was the source of inspiration in the furnishing of the room and emphasized by Sonia Maria Luce Possentini's illustration. Nature and the sun enter the room, while the gaze embraces the infinite.
